Of Peanuts and Plums

Many of you know that I have been very sick for the last month and a half. Well, maybe some of you don't know, since I was so sick that I dropped off the face of the planet.

How sick? What sick? Let me start by saying that I had to move in with friends for 2 weeks before my precious mother was able to be here to take care of me. She's now been here for 3 weeks. I had to quit work, I couldn't even go to church (except one miraculous sacrament meeting last week). It's rather disheartening when you can't even walk and stand long enough to heat up your own food in the microwave. Anyway, enough of that.

I've been to two different doctors now. And today, my new doctor was able to show me very clearly what's been ailing me. I'd seen it with the first doctor, too, but then it was just a blinking peanut. Today, I was able to see that my peanut has grown quite rapidly. If fruit analogies are to be believed, here is the plum-sized Peanut that has given me so much trouble:

Next time I see the doctor, if Peanut cooperates, it will be revealed whether our Peanut is a he or a she.

Oh, and if anyone still reading is interested, I am starting to feel better.

Peanut is a demanding taskmaster! But all things considered, if one has to be sick, it is better to be sick for such a good reason.
Exciting times!

Ah, the glorious miracle of wee ones! So glad to hear you are feeling better. What a relief it is to learn that someone else out there had the same experience I did during my first "miracle." (Ah ha! I'm not totally abnormal.) I wondered why I was so sick for weeks. (Though not so sick as you've described. So sorry! How nasty!) We had to wait for our insurance to kick in before seeing a doctor. (Nasty business in itself.) Finally, the mystery was solved. I was terrified. And humbled and amazed. I remember bargaining like crazy to anyone who would listen that I would wear any horrible looking maternity clothing I had to if they would just make the sickness go away.

Glorious miracles for you! How wonderful!

I can't believe that you were as sick as you were and still trying to keep it a secret. Congratulations!! I predict that it is a girl because in my experience only a girl can make you that deliriously sick. Oh, and I am very glad that you are finally feeling better. And also that your trip to Ireland was so eventful :)

I am so happy for you! When your mom was hear and I asked about your illness she graciously avoided the subject. I thought well, either you were pregnant or dying. I'm so glad to hear you are pregnant. When will the little stinker be arriving? Morning sickness is the WORST! Keep food in your stomach and get some good drugs that work. There are lots of safe ones out there now! Good luck and keep us posted!
Oh, and you should be honored, this is my first ever blog comment. Hope I do it right!

Congratulations! I can't believe that you've had to go through all that with Jon being gone! (Which, I'm still confused with the timeline of all that). But anyways, I couldn't be more happier for the 3 of you! I hope you'll be good enough to sing in October :)

yay. and yay. and yay. I wish I could be there to give you a big hug. I am so glad your mother was able to be there with you and do her mommy magic. You have a wonderful mother! I love you and I know I will love your peanut! or plum!

We're so happy for you. Congratulations and feel better! Linus is a tough taskmaster. I guess with this news, the fish comment and the verse 28 reference that he is in a verse that uses the word multiply. Not reading Greek, the closest I could come was the word plethuno from my Vines that looks like a form of a word in the verse he cited. You're just following instructions.

Congrats! What fun news! Sorry you have been so sick. That's how Spencer's two oldest sisters and mom where. No fun. Hope you feel better soon.
