Diamondbacks won the series! Against the Yankees! But I'm with you, that may have actually spent all of my good luck for the rest of my life.

Yes, I know. That's how I feel.

Although I must say that was a great series! Probably the best moment of my sports-fan-age. Must have been a glitch in the Matrix -- the Fates noticed too late that I was watching and rooting.

Don't forget 1997 NCAA Basketball Championship: Arizona 84, Kentucky 79. Don't tell me you were rooting for Kentucky.

Yeah, 1997 was a great year too. Then there was the year Joe Germaine beat ASU at the Rose Bowl.

Plus the U beat Alabama this year, that was pretty awesome.

Ok, so maybe I'm not a total bad luck charm. Maybe just as much as anyone else, eh?

And yes, I do remember 1997. That was a great game, and I was rooting for the right team of course.

Speaking of Joe Germaine, my seminary kids actually remember him, so I told them that he grew up in our neighborhood. They were properly impressed, especially when I told them that his dad (Big Joe) taught us Sunday School. (apparently they were not aware of his religious affiliation)

At least the Cardinals won their division and made it to the Super Bowl. I count that as a major accomplishment!
