Thesis-Writing Music

What do you think would be the best music to listen to while writing a thesis?

1. Polynesian

2. Enya

3. Strauss (Richard)

4. Maldovian pop

5. German/Austrian pop

6. Stevie Wonder

7. The Who

8. Queen

9. Persian/Indian Classical

10. David Bowie

Too many choices? Pick two.

Then tell me which one you think I listened to the most while writing my thesis.

I'm going to guess that you listened to Persian/Indian Classical, though

You missed the best thesis writing music of all--John R Cash. Especially "Sunday Morning Comin' Down".

I will guess you chose Polynesian. Papa, the old cowboy.

I guess you listen to Queen and David Bowie, specifically "Under Pressure".

First thesis I listened to British Asian radio. Second thesis I listened to Persian classical music and big beat.

For me, classical. It's usually nothing. I get too distracted—start singing and bopping along. Der Meister is actually the opposite . . . interesting.

Incredibly cool you have all these on the same list. Let's see . . . would you listen to a German composer while writing about them? Ah, but David Bowie's on the list. Gotta choose him.

So, I'll reveal my naivete and ask . . . what is Maldovian pop?

I choose Polynesian and Persian which is better than listening to "I killed the Tambourine Man" as sung on American Idol by the "T" head.

I would go with Straus for when you're really firing on all cylinders, then Queen when you need Bohemian Rhapsody (the second half) to pick you up.

Well, you're all partly right because I listened to a little bit of all of these while writing my thesis. However, I listened to Enya the most of any artist, and I did listen to Strauss for all of my last chapter. But, the two singles that I listened to the most? Queen/David Bowie's "Under Pressure" and the Maldovian pop sensation "Numa numa"

The first of these introduced me to the song, the original you-tube "production" which made the song a world-wide hit that I now have on my computer. And the second one is, well, self-explanatory.
