...it was an early birthday present from Linus and his side of the family. I would have posted this sooner, but there's a whole story about a new bridge and an impatient me trying to tune an instrument I haven't played in over 3 years. (Would you know what to replace a kamancheh string with?) So now that it's all ready for showing off, here's an unprecedented blog-post "thank you" to all those who made this special gift possible! A thank you complete with picture

and one of my favorite Persian songs, "Saqiname". For all the trouble he went to for this beautiful instrument, this performance is dedicated to my father-in-law (Baba joon):

What a great present! Your vibrato is great. Interesting bow hold - would the Russians approve? Mutti
Nice present! Well played--thanks for sharing and happy birthday!
The old cowboy.
Awesome! Now we just need the vocals.
Happy Birthday! Cool instrument and are they allowed in sacrament meeting? :)
Here's a comment from my father-in-law:
Thank you very much for the song. I am honored to have a song dedicated to me. I listened to the song and loved it. It was all worth it to find you the Kamancheh. You are very talented and Linus is fortunate to share his life with you. Happy birthday.
Regards,
Babajoon
